Combining words and photographs evolved from wanting to tell a little more about each animal’s story. Each of the animals I photograph is a rescue animal with a history of often horrific neglect or abuse. Seeing a photo of them happy, recovered, healed, you can’t tell where they came from or what their journey has been. Words allow for more story, sometimes for their own voice.
